Disappointing experience. Our agent (who shall remain nameless) was helpful in the sense that she would jump through hoops to show us whatever we found but she didn't find a single property for us that we didn't find first. We made an offer on a home that was countered. We decided not to proceed because we felt we were already overpaying. She assured us we weren't and that the home would sell quickly, but we passed anyway. A month later, the house is still for sale at a price lower than what we offered. Haven't heard from her. Worst of all, when you sign a buyer agency agreement with Iowa Realty, they sneak in a $150 "buyer representation" fee that's buried way down in the agreement. Apparently 6% is not enough for these folks. It's cynical and disrespectful because they just assume that nobody will see it or question it. No thank you. Buyer beware.
